To listen on your computer... The Computer listen-links to your left should suffice for just about everybody listening on a computer running Windows, Mac Os X, or any human-friendly flavor of Linux, such as Ubuntu or Mandriva. They don't, however, work for all cellphones, and they may not work so well for Internet radios, either. Fortunately, there are solutions! We have lots of listen-links for a variety of players, but if you are using a Windows version earlier than XP-Home - i.e., Windows 95, 98, NT, Me or 2000, you might have some trouble. All current versions of RealPlayer, WinAmp and Windows Media Player require XP, Vista, or Windows 7. Fortunately, there is a player supported on earlier Windows versions, The KM Player. Click here to download it (Windows-only). Realistically, if your running something older than Windows XP, you're probably about due for an upgrade... If you're running any flavor of Mac OS, Windows 7 or a human-friendly Linux, you shouldn't have any problems. To listen on most smartphones (except BlackBerry), click here. This is a high-quality low-bandwidth AAC+ stream at 64kbps. To listen on a BlackBerry, you must first install the Berrytunes software, available at Crackberry.com for about $20. You must, then, add a station entry to the Berrytunes app. Instructions are here. For the iPhone, try this link from within Safari. It should launch Quicktime and play the stream. If that link doesn't work, try this one. Be sure to bookmark the stream in Quicktime for easier access next time. We're currently looking into getting an iPhone app, maybe even a BlackBerry app for our stations. We'll be making lots of noise about it once that happens. We don't yet have any information for the Palm Pre or the Droid. Feel free to contact us with your experience. Internet radios, generally have a built-in menu system sorted by geography or format, or both. Try choosing the geographic method. Usually, you'll select a continent, then a country, then a state, then a format. You should find us under Internet-Only stations. If this doesn't work, please click here for more information than you can probably stand about Internet radios. |
